When executing a TweakVI plugin an error message appears saying " ... error executing the plugin!" or "object was unloaded". |
|
Possible cause
1:
this error usually occurs if the TweakVI installation got corrupted
most likely caused bv another software installed and
/or running on your machine during installation of
TweakVI.
Please do
completely uninstall and re-install TweakVI, and do
ensure that there's **NO** other application active
while installing as some other programs might
interfere with software installations, including
AntiVirus and Firewall software. Do not just disable
such applications; please do
CLOSE them down completely before
installing TweakVI. Actually such applications can not
just interfere with the setup of TweakVI, but with
any other software setup as well.
Possible cause
2:
This problem can also be caused by
third party registry cleaning tools that do delete
some registry keys that were created by the TweakVI
setup. If you use third party registry cleaning tools,
please check what registry keys are reported as
redundant by such tools and do create a backup of your
registry before you remove any registry keys. If one
of the error messages mentioned above occurs after
cleaning the registry with a third party registry
cleaning tool, then re-installing TweakVI should fix
the problem.
Possible cause
3:
The Windows Vista 'User Account Control'
feature (UAC) can cause setup programs not to
register system files properly with the system. If
you have UAC enabled, disable it through the 'User'
control panel and re-try installing TweakVI.
Windows Defender sometimes also interferes with
software setups - please check whether Windows
Defender blocked certain registry actions of the
TweakVI setup program. If so, disable Windows
Defender and reinstall TweakVI.
Possible cause 4:
If the error remains,
and nothing of the above fixed it, then parts of
your Windows Vista installation are corrupted - some
Windows system files were either replaced by outdated
versions by another software installer. You may then
want to try following these instructions,
although this will rarely fix the issue. If it
doesn't, and if you are sure that no other
software can interfere with the setup of TweakVI
(see above), then parts of your Windows installation
are mis-configured or corrupted and only a 'repair
installation' of Windows could fix the problem. If that does also not help, only re-installing Windows Vista will help.
